How to use Video for your Website:
People like to deal with people.
People like to see something engaging.
Video for website provides your clients with an instant connection to you. There are five basic types of video that fulfill different needs. A brief outline of each is below:
Video for Website Type 1: Hype / advertising video
Typically less than a minute long with lots of graphics, animation and music. Think 30 second hype ad. Still animation, with text 30 seconds to a minute of video embedded into your website for $100.
Video for Website Type 2: Introduction video
A few minutes long, introducing you and/ or your staff , what you do and how you are different.
If your customers can see a natural video of you on your website, particularly if you are in a service industry, trust is built instantly and they are more likely to deal with you.
I am doing basic short videos of you in your workplace edited and ready to go on your website for $330 per video (the latest one is below). If you are local I come to you, otherwise you shoot it with a digital camera and send me the footage to edit. Film quality (usually) doesn’t need to be anything spectacular, your customers for a small business just want to feel like they know you, if it’s too slick it can actually work against you.
Video for Website Type 3: Showcase Video
If you are a performer you need to show how great you are, a video of a live show, or performance is great for business. These are a bit longer than the introduction and can either be a single song / performance or a montage. A showcase video for your website can really make the difference between getting the gig or not.
It needs to be long enough to show your talent, but not so long that people lose interest.

Video for Website Type 4: Education Video
One great way to build trust and get a reputation for being the best is to offer training/ educational video for your website on subjects your customers ask you about. These can be how to use your product , preventative care, exercises or techniques and tips that you use with your clients. They don’t have to be great quality, you can do them yourself – I’ve even had a great response from this one I did without proper audio on a whim (of course decent sound is MUCH better and essential if you are a musician, as a massage therapist though people really don’t care that much)
Video for Website Type 5: Testimonial Video
If your fans, clients and customers love you and think you do an amazing job (and they should) testimonial videos are a great way show new people what makes the existing ones come to you. Text testimonials are helpful, but people like to know that the person giving the testimonial is real. If they can see and hear the excitement or sincerity in their eyes it goes a long way to making what they say believable. Testimonial video for your website are best when there is no editing at ALL. Just real people saying how they feel.
Video for website can boost SEO as well by providing external links, especially if you syndicate them to places like You tube. This is particularly true for educational or showcase videos.
